Amal
Amal, 44, and her husband Imad, 46, have suffered unfathomable miseries. Their son George died at the age of 16 as a result of kidney failure and the couple’s daughter Sharihan lost her sight at the age of 16, requiring her to attend a specialized school for the blind. Imad suffers from health problems including gangrene in his feet, and Amal’s health has been unstable due to continuous vaginal bleeding. These miseries have placed a significant financial burden on this troubled family.
Amal was admitted to Holy Family Hospital as an urgent case due to her severe bleeding and the staff performed an urgent hysterectomy. Although the couple was grateful that Amal finally received the medical attention so desperately needed, they were overwhelmed by the financial costs.
