Eman
Eman, 31, is married to Ahmed, 35. The couple has five daughters and lives in the Wadi Fokeen village in the Bethlehem district. There is no work in the West Bank for construction workers like Ahmed, so, like many other young fathers, he is unemployed. Eman suffers psychological problems from the stresses of raising a family under such difficult economic and social conditions.
Four months pregnant with twins and desperate for medical care, Eman visited the social worker at Holy Family Hospital. The hospital assisted Eman with regular prenatal care and psychological counseling. In July Eman delivered healthy twins. As a result of the generosity of its donors, the hospital was able to cover most of the costs for Eman and her twins.
